Sydney is undoubtedly one of the best cities for a pub crawl! I highly recommend doing one in The Rocks, where all the venues are within walking distance. The Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel can get busy at night, but this works in your favor—the lively crowds, great music, and their house-brewed ales create an unforgettable experience. Next, head to The Hero of Waterloo and try their James Squire Pale Ale and Reschs. Finally, make your way to The Argyle, where you can dance the night away!

Looking for a unique experience in Sydney at night? Head to Palm Beach Headland on the Northern Beaches, designated as Australia’s first Urban Night Sky Place (UNSP) by DarkSky International. Barrenjoey Lighthouse at Palm Beach is one of the most scenic evening spots, just one hour from Sydney! 🚏Take a Walk at Circular Quay
Circular Quay is where some of Sydney’s most recognisable landmarks meet. On one side, you’ve got the Opera House and the Royal Botanic Garden. On the other, the Harbour Bridge stands tall over the ferries and water taxis coming and going. Start your walk at the Opera House. A guided tour is worth it for the behind-the-scenes look at one of the world’s most unique buildings. From there, follow the waterfront around to Dawes Point or cut through to the gardens for a quieter stroll. At night, the harbour lights make the whole area feel alive!

We tried the experience during Vivid Sydney last year, we watched an illuminated Sydney, and loved it! Their timings vary; it’s best to check them before you plan to visit.

Walsh Bay is home to top cultural spots like the Rebel Theatre, Wharf 1 Theatre, and Bell Shakespeare, having everything from contemporary to classic performances. You can catch virtuoso musicians at the Australian Chamber Orchestra or enjoy the moving vocals of the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs! Afterward, grab a drink at Bar at the End of the Wharf and enjoy local wines and craft beers with a beautiful harborside view!
🦒Roar & Snore at Taronga Zoo!

Up for some wildlife adventure? Try the Roar and Snore at Taronga Zoo, this unique Sydney experience is where you can camp in safari tents with views of the Opera House! It begins after the zoo closes, with a night walk led by knowledgeable guides and the chance to meet animals up close, including a behind-the-scenes giraffe encounter.

From Wednesdays to Sundays, you’ll find some of Sydney’s hottest DJs at Barangaroo House, located in the heart of Barangaroo! It’s a three-level venue with House Bar – a casual pub on the first floor, Rekodo Restaurant and Vinyl Bar, for an experience of Japanese flavors and rave vibes on the second, and the very bougie and classy Smoke on the third! We recommend heading to Smoke for the sublime rooftop harbor and skyline views, along with their smoked, spiced dishes!
